Wedding of Asma Rahman, daughter of Mir Shakeel-Ur-Rahman

A Nation is Known by a Man it Keeps
Yet Another "Mir"

Here is an event that went unnoticed in the main stream media of Pakistan. All the snoopy “investigative” journalist guns were silent and no one even raised their hyper-critique eyebrows on what is labelled as a high profile & really expensive wedding in Dubai.

It was the wedding of Asma Rahman, daughter of Mir Shakeel-Ur-Rahman – Founder and Chairman of GEO TV

Though I was not the privileged ones to attend the event, there were many who attended the wedding as it was talk of the town . Top Bollywood celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan and wife Gauri, Hrithik and Sussane Roshan, along with Arjun and Mehr Jessica Rampal, Ex-General Pervaiz Musharraf along with many Pakistani politicians and media celebrities made special appearance at the wedding of Pakistan media mogul, owner of Jang Group and Geo, Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman’s daughter, who tied the knot with the son of an investment banker who has made inroads into the media business. And the grand event happened in Dubai on December 30th

According to investigations, the arrangement of the event only (at Madinat Jumeirah for 1000+ people and many other arrangements) cost nearly AED 3.5 million = 8 crores, 48 lakhs, 75 thousand Pakistani rupees. Its reported that SRK charged 750,000 dollars to attend wedding appearance. The other stars Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman also paid heavily to attend the event.

One wonders where the media owner like MSR get all this money from? Such huge amount? Is it possible and justifiable in this poor country? Where is all that money coming from?

I am 24 years old Pakistani whose grandfather migrated from India on 15 August 1947. I need not read books for Pakistan because i am Pakistan. When i saw those pictures of one media tycoons of Pakistan Mr Mir Shakil ur Rehman, i immediately found the conclusion why my young Pakistanis are so confused of their ideology. I saw pictures of top Indian bollywood stars in this wedding ceremony of Mr Mir Shakeel ur rehman's daughter, i also saw pictures of those who are efficiently and dedicatedly  wed locked with India in confusing youth with regards to the very existence of Pakistan.

'Father' of Pakistan's atomic bomb doubts North Korea will deploy nukes

Dr. Abdul Qadeer (A.Q.) Khan, the so-called “father of the Islamic nuclear bomb," says he doubts North Korea will explode a nuclear device in its current face-off with the United States and South Korea, saying the regime of Kim Jong Un is "not very stupid."

From his luxurious home in Islamabad, Khan, whose newly found political party is inserting itself into the Pakistan’s upcoming elections, said he did not think the North Koreans are “trigger happy.”
In an exclusive 30-minute phone interview, Khan told Fox News: "Oh, no, no, no, they (the North Koreans ) are not very stupid … few people blow it up and get hype, blow it against proportion. North Korea is such a small country, if America drops a single bomb, there won’t be any North Korea on the map of the world. The North Koreans know it very well and the Americans know it very well, but for sheer propaganda and publicity both play the game.”

North Korea’s last nuclear test on Feb. 11 was described as a miniaturized atomic bomb of six-seven kilotons mounted on a Nodong missile, technology brought to Pakistan from North Korea by Khan in the early 1990’s.

“Officially we had a program with them," Khan said in his interview with Fox. "I went there twice…we had a missile program.”

Dr. Abdul Qadeer (A.Q.) Khan told Fox News his party’s name means “safety of Pakistan.”
“Since I have been associated with the nuclear program … I took the missile because everyone said I should choose the missile … it is very simple and easy for the people to remember.”
There are more than 85 million registered voters in a nuclear armed country of 180 million people. Pakistan is struggling with Al Qaeda and Taliban terrorist franchises.
Its citizens have spent the past decade in a never-ending cycle of sectarian violence, unemployment, chronic food and energy shortages.

In addition, the withdrawal of U.S.-led forces in neighboring Afghanistan is looming.
One of the biggest Western concerns has been of that of a “dirty bomb” manufactured from stolen fissile material of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal, which is under the control of the country’s Strategic Planning Division. SPD has assured the international community several times over the years that these concerns are unwarranted.

Washington fears nuclear weapons may be vulnerable to militant attacks or suspected rogue elements within Pakistan’s powerful military.
When asked by Fox News if the Pakistani nukes are safe, Dr. Abdul Qadeer (A.Q.) Khan responded confidently that “they are quite safe.”

Saudi king delays crackdown on illegal migrant workers

The Saudi Arabian government suspended for 3 months its crackdown on migrant workers without proper documentation.

King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud ordered its Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Labor on Saturday, April 6, to give illegal migrant workers more time to fix their papers.

Saudi has more than 9 million expatriates from countries like Yemen, India, Pakistan and the Philippines, It has already deported over 200,000 foreigners due to documentation problems.

“Thousands of illegal migrant workers in Saudi Arabia without proper documents are overjoyed by this announcement because they can now at least freely move around and seek the embassy’s help in correcting their status. However, 3 months can go by fast, so we hope that our diplomatic posts in Saudi Arabia can be given the resources and personnel needed to help our illegal migrant workers take advantage of the grace period,

Saudi law dictates that migrant workers must be sponsored by their employers. But many switch jobs without transferring their residency papers.
The Saudi government wants to deport illegal workers to put more Saudi nationals into private sector posts.

illegal migrant workers who have lost touch with their original sponsors should seek help from their Embassy  and other diplomatic offices in Saudi Arabia to beat the 3-month grace period.
